Deloitte Digital sponsors Digital Design at the D&AD awards

At Deloitte Digital we value the power of creativity. That’s why we have decided to join Design & Art Direction (D&AD) Professional Awards in their search to find the best creative talent in the digital space.

The D&AD awards are recognised as the ‘Grammy Awards’ for design and advertising. For more than 50 years “they have existed to inform, educate and inspire those who work in and around the creative industries”.

We wanted to be part of this global celebration of imagination, and decided to sponsor the Digital Design category for the D&AD 2013 Professional Awards.

More than 1000 ideas to go through

A couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to see how thorough the judging process is at an exhibition at Kensington Olympia where more than 1,000 entrants showcased their creativity.

Packaging design, photography, copywriting, sound design, campaign sites, direct mail, printed and web advertising… a countless demonstration of creativity spread across 130 categories and 25 disciplines. 

Participants from more than 60 countries were trying to demonstrate that they’ve got what it takes to deserve the Black Pencil (the highest recognition) or the Yellow Pencil (the recognition of original, well executed ideas).

Only ‘ground-breaking’ ideas will receive a Black Pencil award, making this one of the most desirable recognition for the creative and advertising industry in the world (see last year's winners).
